Rare Harvey Probber acid-etched and patinated bronze sofa table, circa 1960s

6,500.00

This stunning and seldom-seen Harvey Probber (American, 1922–2003) sofa or console table features an acid-etched and patinated bronze top with a minimalist, polished solid-brass frame. The top depicts a variety of artfully executed Greek pottery forms, created by acid-etching and patinating a sheet of bronze to develop an image with a textured relief. The technique is similar to that used by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne during the same period. USA, circa 1960s. 52-1/2" w x 26 d x 24-7/8" h. Very good original condition; top is in excellent condition with no notable wear; frame has scattered patina and wear to the lacquered brass.
